Evangeline is a British born Chinese multi-instrumentalist raised in East London, where her musical journey began on the flute, violin and cello, until she found her true passion for the double bass. This year, she had the privilege of being selected for the ‘Pit Perfect’ Scheme 2021 with the Glyndebourne Touring Orchestra, the LSO String Scheme, principal bass for the London Sinfonietta Academy and last year was named a Britten Pears Young Artist 2020.

Previously held principal bass positions include with the Britten Shostakovich Festival Orchestra, National Youth String Orchestra, Young Musician’s Symphony Orchestra. She has a keen interest in period music, having played with renowned ensembles such as Florilegium and many other early music groups in the UK.

Recently graduating with First Class Honours at the Royal College of Music, Evangeline is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music with scholarship, with generous support from the Munster Trust and Talent Unlimited.

When Evangeline isn’t playing the bass, she likes good chat, bubble tea, thrifting and baking.
