BFO Launch at the Assembly Rooms, Bath

Due to the national lockdown measures due to end on the 2nd December, this event has been rescheduled from Saturday 28th November at 2pm in the Assembly Rooms to the Saturday 5th December at 2pm in the Assembly Rooms.

If you have booked tickets your tickets will automatically be moved over to the new date. The safety of our audience and staff is paramount and the rescheduled event will only go ahead if the lockdown has been lifted on the 2nd December as planned and the covid risk level is not too high in the Bath and North East Somerset.

The past months have brought delight as our core musicians have come together for our prelude launch. Seven of our principals will perform their wonderful interpretation of Beethoven’s Septet, one of the greatest works of chamber music, and of particular relevance as we approach the close of this Beethoven’s celebratory year.

The orchestra will also be playing works written for various combinations of instruments by Franz Schubert, Anton Reicha, Ludwig van Beethoven and Morton Gould.

Our group of formidable young talent will be led by Maren Bosma, the BFO Leader and Artistic Creator.

We are thrilled that in response to our ‘feet in the past, head in the future’ approach, the BBC Click team will be present making a segment for BBC World on orchestral innovation and the BFO.  The airing of a specially commissioned film, made by our young filmmakers Luke and Matteo of Foreign Body Productions, makes for an exciting and inclusive event.

The performance of live music in great and unusual spaces is central to our schedule for you, our audience, and we are extremely excited to welcome you to the Assembly Rooms, Bath on 5 December.
