The Bath Festival Orchestra brought electrifying energy to the ancient setting of Bath Abbey in its sold-out launch concert as part of Bath Festival on 17 May.
As a newly reformed orchestra, focused on music that entertains, informs and moves its audiences, The Bath Festival Orchestra seized the very first opportunity to perform live. The launch concert took place on the first day that live music to audiences could return in the UK, and this was an event that generated excitement and anticipation amongst the public.
Featuring Soprano Rowan Pierce, conductor Peter Manning and the lively, dynamic young musicians of the Bath Festival Orchestra, this dazzling concert included Weber’s Overture Der Freischütz, 5 orchestral songs by Strauss and Brahms’ Serenade No 1 in D.
